“Sketch-n. 1 a rough, slight, merely outlined, or unfinished drawing or painting, often made to assist in making a more finished picture”. The Concise Oxford Dictionary
The ‘Sketches’ album is divided into sub-albums [i / ii /iii & Epilogue]. My initial intention was for this sub-division of the series to have a chronological context. However I have decided that the division will not be based on years or decades, but rather on a progression towards my goal photographically. This goal cannot be put into words. It will speak for itself when the time is right. It is not that I do not wish to put it into words (although this may also be the case), but rather that I cannot. The photographs will explain themselves to me. I will discover them, after seeing them. I suspect that, as mentioned briefly in the album ‘Epilogue’, that the notions / themes of space and silence will play a large role in these images I seek.
